Going into 2012, I had no idea what to expect. Sure it has been a year of many ups and downs – more downs than ups it often felt like… but the good kicked its ass. Hard.
Sometime around the end of September I was on vacation in sunny San Diego, sipping on a slushy, marveling at the giraffes, losing my mind seeing the giant panda bears eating grass and basically loving the fact I was wearing a tank top and shorts in fall. Being the tailend of my little getaway, it was turning out to be the perfect day… up until I got a text saying that Jayna Marie and Rey needed a photographer for their wedding that was a little over two weeks away – the day got even better.

The following images are a handful of my favourite shots while assisting the ever talented photographer slash pizza eater, Michael Wachniak.
The following images are from a wedding I assisted Sachin Khona with at Queen Elizabeth park. When he asked me to come along, I jumped at the chance and was so honored as I found it very important personally that I be a part of a wedding like this. I can’t thank him enough for this opportunity, and it is a day I’ll remember for a very long time.
After 13 years of being together, Rob + Russell travelled to Vancouver, a city they call one of their favourites in the world, all the way from Australia to elope in an intimate ceremony witnessed by family and friends from from different parts of the globe.
I hope by looking at these images, you can feel emotion that everyone else experienced that day.
Last time I saw Chris and Helen was when I shot their engagement session in Steveston. On their Friday wedding day in August they were just as gorgeous and were wed at the beautiful Hycroft Manor in front of family and friends!

Kristal is from Vancouver and Makis is from Corfu. Once upon a time, she travelled through Europe.. taking in the sights, absorbing the sights and enjoying life like so many University students do when they travel abroad. Along the way, she met a man. They fell in love, started a life together in Greece… and exactly a month ago the two of them celebrated their love for one another in front of friends and family from all across the globe.. and it was EPIC.
And there I was in the thick of it all.. a week long experience that I’ll never forget. I got to roam the small streets of Corfu and take their portraits. I witnessed Kristal’s Krevatia as their bed was blessed in a traditional ceremony. I toga partied, consumed more Greek food than I could have ever imagined, drove an ATV all over Corfu, basked in the sun, drank many a beer.. and experienced my first big fat Greek wedding… and it was amazing.
Thank you to Sachin Khona, for flying in from London to help me out with this wedding.. You are the man. Seriously.
