The evening after the Vancouver Sun Run, Kim + Mao had a portrait session on Granville Island. After what was a confusing weather day to say the least, the sun graced us with its presence. I’m definitely looking forward to their wedding at Furry Creek in September!
This engagement session took place on a sunny evening in White Rock. It was early March but felt like the begninning of summer!
Random Fact of the Day: I have a black belt in Meibukan Goju Ryu Karate – the same style practiced in the original Karate Kid movies.. random I know..
Where does this lead us? This is how I met Jessica, through my sister, who also has a black belt in karate. Don’t mess with us. 
Fast forward to Jessica and Peter. When I heard they wanted me as their photographer for their wedding, I was stoked. These two are awesome, and we had a blast at Lighthouse Park in North Vancouver. The wedding is in a little over a week away and I am ready to smash it. HI YA!
This handful of frames comes courtesy of a wedding I helped Michael Wachniak with at the beginning of June. It was the first of his own wedding season, and as always, it was a blast shooting with him – looking forward to the rest of the summer! Oh, and I also got to meet and work with Geoff and Naomi of Weddings in Motion – so many cool people at one place and one time – epic.
The next day after the gigantic Greek wedding we took a small boat out to K&M’s favourite spot in Corfu – a little deserted island called Keradikia, for some intimate shots around an old monestary.

Kristal and Makis Portrait Session
Kristal is from Vancouver and Makis is from Corfu. Once upon a time, she travelled through Europe.. taking in the sights, absorbing the sights and enjoying life like so many University students do when they travel abroad. Along the way, she met a man. They fell in love, started a life together in Greece… and exactly a month ago the two of them celebrated their love for one another in front of friends and family from all across the globe.. and it was EPIC.
And there I was in the thick of it all.. a week long experience that I’ll never forget. I got to roam the small streets of Corfu and take their portraits. I witnessed Kristal’s Krevatia as their bed was blessed in a traditional ceremony. I toga partied, consumed more Greek food than I could have ever imagined, drove an ATV all over Corfu, basked in the sun, drank many a beer.. and experienced my first big fat Greek wedding… and it was amazing.
Thank you to Sachin Khona, for flying in from London to help me out with this wedding.. You are the man. Seriously.

This wedding was in early May, the first of the 2012 season. Derrick and Katy reside in Calgary, but flew out to Vancouver to celebrate their wedding. The weather was gorgeous and made for the perfect opportunity to do something really Vancouver.. like grabbing some Japadog along the the way. Congratulations you two!
